I believe that most of you might have read the announcement regarding the server down time. Please do not open new threads stating that the servers are offline. We know. smile.gif All such topics will be deleted.

In case you do not know what I am referring to, please click here.

Meanwhile, you may post your views and opinions about the migration in here instead of creating multiple topics all over the forums. Ranting/spamming/flaming will not be tolerated.

We have been working hard towards this goal and I am happy to say that today we are much closer to it. smile.gif More updates will happen in the near future and it will all be targeted towards a golden era.

Well, I suppose they are adding another forty or so IBM NetVista''s with Intel Pentium 3 processors and Riva TNT 2 graphics cards.

You jest, but a P3 would probally more than meet the needs of running a RS server. Long gone are the days when you could spec a PC and simply sling a TNT 2 in there and have a pro gaming rig biggrin.gif

I am guessing that its 8 to 12 P2 computers put together. I distinctly remember seeing floppy disk drives on them. Not sure. *scratches head*

For people coming here because you can''t logon (currently 5:40AM PST) ... thats right the switch is not happening yet (supposed to happen 2:00 PM PST) you are having issues that we have been having for awhile.

I''m eager to see how the new hardware will handle everything. And it''s nice to see staff not only active in the game (unusual with many games) but willing to spend money on hardware to increase the players gaming experience (hopefully smile.gif ).

Are you crazy?? Atari 2600 is ancient. We always use cutting edge technology. The old one was a cluster of celeron PCs. I still remember my celeron like I got it yesterday. So if it was "yesterday", it's not that old, is it?

Jokes apart...(yea even I can crack jokes dry.gif ) I am not at liberty to disclose any details regarding the hardware. I did mention this in one of my posts earlier. These are highly classified information and I will not be posting them in an open forum.

The migration is in its final stages. The QA is doing their basic tests on their servers and as soon as they are done, the servers will be brought online again.

They also have been assigned the duties to clean up the streets of Brune. Tourists leave such a mess. blink.gif
